While we were on vacation in the States, we went to a professional studio to get portraits of Jack. Here is our little cutie about 3 months ago. The pictures of the four boys are of Jack and his three cousins, Jeremy, Tyler, and Dylan.

Can’t wait to meet him and learn his name!! love you all and miss you- we are just so proud of you all and how awesome you are doing in advancing the Kingdom- you are a constant inspiration in my life!! Love you!!
Thanks for the pictures. Some ladies at church were talking about wanting to see pictures of your baby bump. Kenna said she saw your Quechua pictures and could not tell you were pregnant. So now we get to see the real thing.
Your mom is right! I couldn’t tell you were pregnant in your Quechua clothes! I joked and said I was going to request a picture of you in a bikini so I could tell you were pregnant!!! Of course, that’s not necessary!! You look great! Hope you are feeling well, too! I totaly respect Trent’s request about the blog page, but am so glad you have added this page! I love reading your stories about life there, but want to know all about the baby stuff!! I think it’s a girl thing!! Take care!
Lots of love,
Kenna & family
The nursery is very sweet! I think it’s perfect for a lil’ MK.

Hang in there Kay! Trent, too! It will be over soon! Then, you can look forward to sleepless nights, a crying baby, and lots of wonderful memories! You both will love being parents and you’ll see that being uncomfortable for a few short months is worth the many joys you’ll get from your little guy!!
Take care of yourself. We are all so excited for you both!
Love ya!! Kenna
That’s my favorite picture, too. I actually saw the copy you gave Mom and Dad first. He looks so different already. Wow. I need a copy of that one for my house, too. Send it to my email, please.
Love the blog, Kay. It’s a balance that I’m sure you both are doing fabulously!
Jack is so precious! His laugh and sweet smile reflect the love and care his happy parents are giving him. I check your blog frequently and pray for you and your team. God bless each of you!
My first thought on the first meal video was “Where’s the bib?” and then you said “we forgot the bib”. Jack was adorable. Loved seeing him.
Wow has Jack been growing…Can’t believe how big he is getting. Know he is getting everything he needs to thrive. And bet he will get a lot of attention in the states…
i have never heard of Blanket Training! What’s it about? I’ll google it
Personally, i think that anything that even hints at setting boundaries for children these days is controversial. add on to that anything that is associated with ‘Christian parenting’ (like this…No Greater Joy, Focus on the Family, the Ezzo’s…they all promote blanket training) and controversy is sure to follow. it’s so maddening really.
i believe in loving your child and being just as gentle as Jesus (pretty gentle!). that doesn’t have to exclude boundaries. we’ve done the blanket training. we don’t do it until they are between 1.5-2 years old…so at that point, they understand and know what they are doing if they choose to disobey and get off.
there are just so many creative things you can do as a parent. for instance, when i just googled blanket training myself, i saw a post about line training. a lady was having a hard time keeping her 2 year old and 9 month old from touching their Christmas tree. basically, you just train the kid how to not go past a certain line (you can put a piece of tape down on the floor for your line/boundary). what worked for us was actually a trick that i learned from another older mom (of 6). she tells her kids that you can’t touch it, but you can blow on it. they don’t touch the ornaments, but if they want to just gently blow on them “like this” she says (ha ha ha) and then demonstrates, they can. that is enough of a game for them that they don’t touch, they just blow. not just a ‘no’ but also a fun thing to replace what they can’t do. it’s ridiculous really (blowing on the ornaments/lights), but it works.
anyway, it’s so much fun to figure out what to do with your little ones. i know that you and trent will figure it all out well as you go along…just like we all do. stay teachable and keep researching and asking questions. it’s so fun. and i love the video…SO CUTE!
HI TRENT AND KAY,
