It doesn’t really matter…
The greatest thing that you can know about us is that we find our own identity in someone else. Sure, we have personalities, preferences, strengths, and weaknesses. But, as we see it, our life is only as valuable as it is completely sold out to our Savior. We would much rather you know about Him than about us.
We serve as missionaries in the mountains of Southern Bolivia. Our job is to share the truth of Jesus with people groups who have little or no access to the gospel. We work with a team within the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention called the Xtreme Team. This team engages unreached indigenous people groups in the jungles and mountains of Peru and Bolivia. Within this team, we have a team of six guys who we coordinate to go out into some of the most remote villages in Bolivia. Our guys with the names of their home countries in parenthesis are: Graham (Alabama, USA), Efrain (Columbia), Javier (Peru), Jeff (Texas, USA), Christian (Costa Rica), and Roberto (Argentina).
These people are far from any city. There is no church near them. They may have never heard the name of Christ and have no understanding of the gospel.

Hello Trent and Kay,
I am with Redland Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia, a relatively small church of about 150 members, but a large church in prayer warriors and giving hearts.
We have selected missionaries to pray for and to highlight each week during our Lottie Moon offering collection, and ya’ll (that’s southern) are on our highlighted prayer list. Before your picture is posted, the congregation is told about where you are doing your mission work, your family, your background, and any other information we have from the mission board. We were hoping that you might have a few minutes to write a personal incident stemming from your witness work in Peru (or perhaps direct me to a favorite blog) that we could share with the church.
We know that the theme of IMB is “Go Tell,” and your courage to tell about Christ in a foreign country is humbling to many of us who remain in the pews in our home churches. Perhaps if we can’t be “in the harvest fields,” we can supply some “harvest equipment.” So, we want “to tell” one of your stories, if you would so graciously allow us, as we spend the next several weeks collecting for God’s fields.
God bless you; you are truly in our prayers!
Love in Christ,
Cathy Gilbert
Hey Trent and Kay!
I just wanted to tell you guys what an inspiration you are to me. God’s really laid on my heart the call of missions lately and it makes me so excited to read about all the work you’re doing and how God centered your family is.
I’m praying for you guys. It’s been too long. But its a beautiful thing serving the Lord. I’m not the least bit sad that I haven’t seen you because I know I’ll see you in heaven some day! Thank you for serving the Lord.
In His hands,
Allie Brown
Hey Kay and Trent!
Here at our church, 3rd Baptist in Murfreesboro, TN, we are going to be praying for you all as our missionary family for the month of Feb. (For your birthday, Kay!) I’m taking the Christmas picture with the three of you and the information on this page to give to our missions director so that we can make copies and pass them out for people to put up and pray for you all. We love you! Let us know if you have any special prayer requests and I’ll pass those on as well.
I LOVE the pictures of your mom and dad seeing Jack- they were so precious! You are in our prayers-
Love ya’ll,
Tiff
